About Programme
| Law department conduct primarily an academic based education. The students are not obligated to attend an apprenticeship programme during education. Gradutes start their vocational life with apprenticeship and this obligation starts after the educational programme conducted by the department. The apprenticeship of candidates for judge and prosecutor is organized by the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors and bar apprenticeship is conducted by related Bar Associations. | |

History
|
Law department is the only department of the Faculty of Law, which was founded in 2012. The undergraduate education at the department lasts four years, consisting of 8 semesters and language school (optional). The curricula include compulsory national and international law modules as well as optional modules in order to equip the students with extra discipline attainments.

Bachelor's Degree in Law.

Admission Requirements
|
To be able to register to the department, it is essential to obtain adequate base points determined at the examinations organized by the OSYM. A student, who currently attends an equal programme in the country or abroad, may apply to undergraduate transfer, provided that there is an open place in transfer placement. Acceptance of a student is completed by evaluation of applicants' academic standing.

Higher Grade Transition
For bachelor's degree holders, transition to the next level, it requires to satisfy the conditions by these stages, and need to be successful in the examinations for this purpose. The students who were graduated from this Programme, can apply the master or phd programmes that are in the most of social science fields.

Graduation Requirements
|
To be qualified for graduation, it is essential to register to the all compulsory modules in the curricula and certain number of legal and extra discipline optional modules in 8 semesters, to attend them regularly and to pass their exams. By the end of 8 semesters, the students should have taken enough modules worth 240 ECTS.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates may choose to be a judge, prosecutor and attorney at law, and also legal consultant in public and private sector. Besides, they can work in different areas and be a governor, bank inspector or bank expert.

Assessment and Grading
|
Examination, assessment and grading procedure is mainly based on "Fatih Sultan Mehmet Waqf University Education and Training Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees" depending on the nature of the course various instruments such as midterms, final exams, short exams, presentations, assignments, projects, portfolios and applications may be involved in the assessment process of a semester on condition that students are informed about their weights upon registry. Contrbution of these activities to final grading range between 40%-60%. Final grading of a course is determined on the basis of semester studies and final exam. Those with certified and officially approved excuses are also given a makeup exam.
