About Programme
|
The aim of the department is to develop Turkish culture and art -especially Turkish language and education, to transmit the contemporary information in this field, to make efforts to construct the scientific universal basis of the created values, to make efforts for the acquisition of Atatürk principles and our Republic’s basic qualities, to depend all these activities at the basis of homeland and nation love and to make efforts to train individuals who has the same qualifications.

History
|
Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University Turkish Language Teaching Program started education-teaching with the establishment of Education Faculty in 2016-2017. It is one of the three programs that started education-training since the establishment of the faculty.

Qualification Awarded
|
This department offers 240 ECTS credits in the field of Turkish Education. Graduates who successfully completed the program with established qualifications shall have a bachelor degree in Turkish Education.

Admission Requirements
|
Candidates must have high school diploma and an eligible score from the University Entrance Exam.
|
Higher Grade Transition
|
Upon successful completion of undergraduate degree, candidate can study in postgraduate program if s/he has eligible ALES exam score and has sufficient knowledge of a foreign language.
|
Graduation Requirements
|
To successfully complete the program, you must pass all courses in the curriculum (equivalent to 240 ECTS), achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00, and successfully complete the Teaching Practice (Internship) courses.
|
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Our graduates can take the title of "Turkish Teacher" and teach at private and private schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. In addition, our graduates have Turkish Language Teaching, Turkish Language, Turkish Literature, Turcology and so on. They can continue their post-graduate training in the fields both at home and abroad, and they can work as academicians and experts in related departments, institutes and research centers of universities. In addition to these, they can work as specialist teachers in Yunus Emre Institute within the scope of teaching Turkish as a foreign language in various countries of the world. Our associates can be employed in other public and private institutions, in state archives and museums, in media organizations and in other sectors. They can also be editors in publishing houses, newspapers and magazines.

Assessment and Grading
|
A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the program. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the program, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. To succeed in a course, students must get at least 40 points from the final exam and have at least 50 points average. Students who get AA, AA, BA, BB, CB and CC are considered successful. DC and DD are notes that conditionally successful. Students have to attend 70% in theoretical, 80% of practical sessions of courses.
