About Programme
|
Civil engineering is a broad engineering discipline with a curriculum providing a strong foundation in mathematic sand physics followed by in-depth education in mechanics, structures, transportation, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics. The main objective of the programme is to provide the required knowledge for the rapidly developing science and technology, and to graduate expert engineers having the ability to make search and development.

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University Civil Engineering Master Program with Thesis has started its education in 2017-2018 academic year.

Qualification Awarded

Students who have successfully completed the Master Program with Thesis are awarded with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Civil Engineerin

Admission Requirements
|
According to the admission conditions determined by YÖK; Students who have graduated from the related field, who have taken at least 55 of ALES Numerical score type and who have succeeded in the oral and written examinations of the institute, are accepted.

Higher Grade Transition
|
Graduates who successfully completed the Master's Degree may apply to doctorate (thirdcycle) programmes in the same or in related disciplines.

Graduation Requirements
Students who successfully complete any graduate program must complete all the requirements of this Regulation and other requirements.
a) The jury reports and minutes of the thesis thesis defense exam related to the related department,
b) Three copies of the thesis, term project or proficiency of art work prepared in accordance with the thesis writing rules,
c) Copy of the thesis, the term project or the copy of the work of the proficiency work in the electronic environment,
ç) The documents requested by the Higher Education Council,
must be submitted to the institute director in full.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Some students continue their PhD programs while others work in various public institutions or private companies. They continue their programs and others work in various public institutions or private companies.

Assessment and Grading
|
Students are required to take a mid-term examination and/o rcomplete other assigned projects/home work during the semester and, additionally, are required to take a final examination and/or complete a final Project for course evaluation. The final grade is based on themid-term examination grade, the final examinationgradeand/orevaluation of final project, withthecontributions of 40% and 60%, respectively. To pass any course, a Master'sstudent must receive at least 65 out of 100. Students must repeat courses they have failed or may substitute courses the Department accepts as equivalent. The assessment for each course is described in detail in “Individual Course Description”.
