About Programme
|
Civil Engineering is a basic engineering discipline which deals with the design, construction and maintenance of engineering structures like buildings,dams,water structures, highways, railways, bridges,tunnels, airprots and seaports. Also, the investigation and manufacturing of the materials,rehabilitation of soils and construction management of the projects for the structures mentioned above are the other topics in the civil engineering field. The objective of the Civil Engineering program is to train students possessing the fundamental engineering knowledge, analytical structure of mind and skill of design and implementation of systems,skilled at teamwork and focused on continuous learning and self-improving.

History
|
The Civil Engineering Department of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University was established in April 2011 and accepted undergraduate students in 2011-2012 academic year.

Qualification Awarded
|
Students are awarded with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering upon successful completion of all the requirements in the curriculum programme and fulfilling all other requirements for graduation
|
Admission Requirements
|
The admission to Civil Engineering program is based on the results of the Central Placement Examination administered by OSYM.
|
Higher Grade Transition
|
Graduates with the Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering may apply to second and third cycle programs in the related fields
|
Graduation Requirements
|
The students who have successfully completed all courses of the programme, 240 ECTS credits and 60 days of approved practical training, are given Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
|
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Civil engineers can work in national and international private companies or in public institutes as designer, constructor, consultant and manager.
