History
|
Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University Arabic Language and Education Master's Program with Thesis started education and training in the academic year of 2022-2023.

Qualification Awarded
|
Students who successfully complete the Master's Program with Thesis are awarded a Master's Degree in Arabic Language and Education (with Thesis).

Admission Requirements
Candidates must have graduated from Arabic Language and Literature programs or from the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Sciences,
Candidates must have a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00,
ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) score of at least 55 (verbal),
Candidates who are Turkish citizens: show a result document showing that they have obtained at least 55 from one of the YDS / e-YDS / YÖKDİL exams,
Candidates pass the written/oral science exam related to the field of Arabic Teaching,
Candidates must have at least 60 points in order to be included in the ranking.
Foreign students are required to have a C1 certificate/achievement certificate to be obtained from the centers (TÜMER, TÖMER etc.) established to teach Turkish to foreign students and accepted by the Council of Higher Education.
Foreign students are called for an interview by considering their undergraduate grade point average, regardless of ALES and foreign language scores.

Higher Grade Transition
|
Graduates who successfully complete the master's program can apply to doctoral programs both in their own fields and in multidisciplinary fields, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and provide English language proficiency.

Graduation Requirements
|
The program consists of at least seven courses, a seminar course and thesis, with a total of not less than 21 local credits. The graduate education program consists of compulsory and elective courses. The total ECTS credits of the program is 120. Graduation requirements are as detailed in the Qualification Requirements and Rules section.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates of the Arabic Language and Education Program can work as teachers and specialists in institutions such as the Ministry of National Education and its affiliated private schools and private teaching institutions.

Assessment and Grading
In order for students to take the final exams, they must have attended 70% of the theoretical courses and 80% of the practice/laboratories.
At least one midterm exam is given for a course in each semester. At the beginning of the semester, the Institute Directorate and students are informed about how the midterm, semester studies and final exams will be reflected in the success grade of that course, and the content of the course for the whole semester on a weekly basis, the course book and the related literature, the semester exam and application dates. The course grade to be given to the student is appreciated by the faculty member according to the principles included in the course introduction information given to the students and the institute at the beginning of the semester, taking into account the midterm exams, the final exam, and/or the evaluation of the project work at the end of the semester, as well as the course work during the semester and the course attendance.
Make-up exams are opened in graduate courses. With the decision of the Graduate School Administrative Board, students can repeat the courses they have been successful in in order to increase their grade point average.
In order to be considered successful in a course, students must have received at least a (CB) grade from the master's, doctorate/art proficiency in that course.
